Track titles
Use correct capitalisation and avoid unnecessary details in the title field. Do not include file formats, promo wording or artist credits in the track title.
- Correct: Track Title (Remix Name Remix)
- Correct: Track Title (Instrumental)
- Avoid: Track Title feat. Artist Name
- Avoid: TRACK TITLE WAV PROMO
Artist naming and credits
Be consistent with artist names across releases and platforms. Featured artists should be listed in the correct featured artist field rather than added to the title.
Where available, Spotify Artist IDs should be provided for main artists, featured artists and remixers to help prevent profile mismatches.
Artist IDs
Accurate artist IDs help ensure content appears on the correct artist profile, improves discoverability and prevents releases being assigned to unrelated artists with similar names.
ISRCs, catalogue numbers and dates
- Every track must have a valid and unique ISRC
- Catalogue numbers must be consistent and unique per release and format
- Previously released content must include the original release date
- Tracks must be labelled as Explicit, Not Explicit, or Clean/Edited
Common mistakes to avoid
- Do not use placeholder titles such as “Track 01” or “TBC”
- Do not enter artist names in the title field
- Do not include file extensions in metadata fields
- Do not reference physical formats such as CD or Vinyl unless appropriate
